Matthew 8:1-4 The Authority that Cleanses the Untouchable

Posted on May 3, 2026

In Matthew 8:1–4, we encounter a man the world had rejected—a leper, untouchable, unclean, and completely cut off from society. No one would go near him. No one could change his condition.

But Jesus does what no one else would.

He reaches out.
He touches the untouchable.
And with a word of authority, He makes him clean.

This sermon reveals the unmatched authority of Jesus—not just to heal physically, but to cleanse completely. Where religion could only observe and declare, Jesus transforms. Where the Law exposed uncleanness, Jesus removes it.

This is not just a story about a leper—it’s a picture of us.

We were separated.
We were unclean.
We were without hope.

And yet, Jesus was willing.

👉 “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.”

That same authority still stands today.

In this message, you’ll see:
• The condition of the untouchable
• The compassion of Christ
• The authority of His word
• The completeness of His cleansing

This sermon will challenge you to ask:
Do you truly believe Jesus is both able and willing to cleanse you?
